Eduardo Bonet, PLV

Could you please tell us a bit about yourself?

I have been a police officer in the Valencia Local Police (PLV) since 1999. I studied Social Work at the University of Valencia and I have been working in the field of gender and domestic violence with the GAMA Unit since 2005. After being based in the Maritime District of the city, I became a trainer, analyst, and the head of the Human Resources of the GAMA Unit. I am certain that in the field of domestic violence, there is a lot of work to be done, so creating innovative apps that use artificial intelligence through IMPROVE’s consortium will connect all the disciplines involved, and offer solutions quickly and safely.

Could you describe your role in the IMPROVE project?

My role in the different work packages is to share the perspective of the GAMA department, where protection, prevention and intervention is provided to gender-based violence, and domestic and sexual assault cases in the City of Valencia. As an expert, I bring information, procedures and contacts of the different professional entities of support and intervention. The PLV is working on completing the tasks that we have been entrusted with within the work packages as collaborators, such as interviews with frontline responders.

What have you learned through IMPROVE so far?

This is a priceless professional opportunity. It is incredibly rewarding just to be part of a consortium full of skilled professionals, to be able to learn from their expertise, and therefore to build synergies between every member of the project. By committing to the development of AinoAid, we will represent the reality of the victims and provide 24/7 support and assistance. Likewise, this is a big step for modernising the services that the Valencia Local Police offers to the citizens of Valencia.
