IMPROVE Project Newsletter - May 2025 Edition Out Now!

Dear IMPROVE Partners,

As we enter 2025, we are pleased to share the first edition of the IMPROVE project newsletter for this year. This issue highlights the significant progress, concrete results, and ongoing initiatives that demonstrate our collective impact in addressing domestic violence across Europe.

Inside, you will find updates on project milestones, opportunities for engagement, and the latest tools and resources developed by the consortium.

🤖 AinoAid™ needs testers! We’ve reached 15,000 testers – now we’re calling for 15,000 more! Test the chatbot either as someone affected by domestic violence or as a professional gathering information to provide support. Every test helps improve the service.

📝 New training platform evaluation completed: The IMPROVE training platform successfully engaged 652 professionals and students across seven countries, more than doubling our initial participation target. These insights will help optimize the platform and inform the upcoming policy handbook.

👥 Consortium meeting in Grenoble: In March, our consortium met at CNRS/PACTE to plan the final six months of IMPROVE, ensuring maximum impact in fighting domestic violence. Special thanks to Margarita Vassileva and Thierry Delpeuch for hosting!

📖 Handbook coming soon: Work Package 4’s handbook is under development, translating our research into practical guidance and policy recommendations. Stay tuned for its release.

🏝️ La Réunion study day: Experts gathered to discuss the role of addiction in domestic violence, advocating for integrated prevention approaches. Full event summary available on our website.

🏆 Award season for IMPROVE: Our work has been recognized with multiple accolades, including the University of Deusto’s 2025 Social Impact Label, the USEC Award, Spain’s national “Good Local Practices” award, and a nomination for the European Commission’s 2025 Security Innovation Award.

📰 Publications and blogs: Check out our latest research, including studies on police assessment challenges, AI tools supporting victims, and high-risk management case conferences. Plus, our new blog articles provide tips for using AinoAid™ and insights on barriers to support for victims.
