As part of the IMPROVE project’s ongoing commitment to the prevention of domestic violence, the Valencia Local Police, in collaboration with the APTC association, held today a participatory workshop with women survivors of gender-based violence, inspired by the internationally recognised “Clothesline Project” initiative.

We Encourage has been nominated for the prestigious 2025 Security Innovation Award (SIA) by the European Commission for its innovative AinoAid™ solution developed in IMPROVE. This award recognises solutions from EU-funded security research that demonstrate significant real-world impact and market uptake. A nomination signifies a major validation of AinoAid's effectiveness and credibility in the civil security field.

The IMPROVE project has been awarded the prestigious Deusto Research Social Impact Label by the University of Deusto in its 2025 call. This recognition underscores IMPROVE's commitment to transferring knowledge to society and its tangible contribution to social transformation through dedicated research efforts. The label itself acknowledges projects with significant potential for societal change, aligning with key development goals and involving non-academic partners to ensure broader impact beyond scientific contributions.

On 15 April, an international study day in La Réunion, involving the CNRS/IMPROVE project, addressed the critical link between domestic violence and substance use. Experts gathered to discuss improving support for victims and perpetrators by treating addiction as a significant causal factor in violence. The event highlighted the urgent need to move beyond siloed services and integrate addiction treatment into a coordinated, multidisciplinary response to domestic violence in the region.

The Valencia City Council, through the Valencia Local Police (PLV), has been honored in the 9th Contest for Good Practices against Violence against Women by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP). The recognition, awarded in the “Assistance, Help, and Protection” category, celebrates the PLV's contribution to IMPROVE, specifically for developing and testing a chatbot designed to support and protect victims of gender-based violence. The award ceremony was held on 24 March in Madrid.

During the 5th Edition of the USEC Awards Ceremony the IMPROVE project and the PLV’s GAMA unit were rewarded for their work. This recognition highlights the project’s impactful work in addressing and combating gender-based violence through innovative strategies!

The University of Deusto hosted an event commemorating the 20th anniversary of Spain's gender-based violence law and launching the AinoAid™ chatbot to support survivors.

AinoAid in all languages!
The platform and its chatbot are now available in Finland, France, Spain, Austria and Germany. As of today, they can be used both in English and the each country`s native language.

We launched our chatbot AinoAid™ supporting victims of gender-based violence in Valencia, on 25 November 2024 at the Valencia Local Police headquarters. Coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the event brought together important stakeholders.

AinoAid™, our AI chatbot supporting domestic violence victims, launched at the University of Réunion on 25 November 2024 in French . The event highlighted its role in providing confidential advice and linking users to support services, with plans for educational outreach in Réunion schools.

The IMPROVE consortium recently convened in Budapest for a productive face-to-face meeting, discussing project progress, future directions, and visiting a shelter for victims of domestic violence.
