As we wrap up three years of collaboration and research, I’m proud to share the final edition of the IMPROVE newsletter. Together, we’ve built tools, shared knowledge, and inspired change across Europe.
While the project officially concludes, its impact continues through AinoAid™, our training platform, and the network we’ve created. This final issue celebrates our shared milestones, lasting outcomes, and the people who made it all possible:
🏆 AinoAid™ Wins Security Research Award 2025! Our AI-powered chatbot AinoAid™ has been honoured with the European Security Innovation Award in Warsaw for “best innovation with direct support to citizens.”
This recognition celebrates AinoAid’s real-world impact in empowering victims of domestic violence and the dedication of the We Encourage team in making this vision a reality.
🇪🇺 Highlights from the Valencia Symposium: On 3 June 2025, the city of Valencia hosted the International Symposium on New Approaches to Combat Domestic Violence, uniting experts, policymakers, and first responders from across Europe.
💡 New Campaign: Checklist for Intervention
Developed by Valencia’s GAMA team, this practical tool supports law enforcement through every stage of domestic violence interventions — ensuring a systematic, victim-centred response and complementing AinoAid™ in providing fast, safe access to help.
🎉 AinoAid™ reaches 30,000 users!
A major milestone for our team and community! Over 30,000 testers have engaged with the tool, strengthening its ability to assist both victims and professionals. Thank you to all partners, testers, and supporters for helping us reach this goal.
🎬 Ethical Filmmaking Manual Released
IMPROVE has published “Filming with Responsibility: Ethical Filmmaking on Domestic Violence,” a guide for filmmakers and communicators addressing gender-based violence.
It challenges stereotypes, the “male gaze,” and sensationalism, encouraging authentic and empowering storytelling.
